Quick and Easy Hairstyle Hacks to Try this Thanksgiving

November 23, 2016

It's here.  We’ve been waiting.  We were good all summer long, maintaining our beach bods with organic salads and juice cleanses.  When Halloween came around we made sure to only have a few handfuls of candy and pawned the rest off on our coworkers and friends.  We have been preparing for this, for weeks, and now, its finally here.  Thanksgiving!  Yes it can be stressful making plans and preparing dishes.  Cooking again after the easily-thrown-together meals of warmer months.  Rounding up the troops for what seems like an hour of posing for the perfect family picture.  But it's all worth it when you finally get to sit back, relax and enjoy some good people and great food.

I know we all have a lot on our plate (see what I did there?) during this time, and making sure your hair looks great doesn't need to be another anxiety.  Paired with my favorite product of the moment, Moroccan Oil Dry Texture Spray, here are some ideas for the perfect Thanksgiving hairdo that are super stylish and actually functional.

Got-It-Under-Control Low Bun:  Really make sure hair is out of your face while you get those last minute casseroles in the oven by tying your hair back into a low pony tail.  Then when you have 5 minutes to spare before company arrives, loosely braid the tail and secure with a hair tie.  Apply Moroccan Oil Dry Texture Spray to the braid, wrap it around the base of the pony and secure with pins.  Now just pull out a few pieces of hair around your face for a softer look and voila! you're festively formal in no time at all.

Bake-Pies-In-My-Sleep Beach Waves:  Working hard to prepare a beautiful home and fantastic meal takes a lot of energy.  And by the time everything finally seems to come together, the last thing you want to do is brush the residual flour out of your hair and style it.  So before you start prepping, brush your hair and pull it back in a tight french braid.  This is a great way to keep your strands out of the way while you soar through the house like the sophisticatedly graceful Thanksgiving host you know you are.  Just before company arrives, take out the braid and using a flat iron, curl a few pieces of hair around your face.  Spray in Moroccan Oil Dry Texture Spray for a tousled look and crack open a beverage cause you’re done.

Queen-of-Holiday-Cooking Curls: Why not fool people into thinking you put the same amazing effort that went into preparing the day’s spread into styling you hair as well?  Curl your hair the night before and spray Moroccan Oil DryTexture Spray throughout.  Keeping your natural part, split hair evenly down the middle and use elastic hair ties to form two loose high pony tails, one on either side of your head.  Gather the curls and wrap around the base of each pony tail, forming a bun, then secure with bobby pins (leaving you with the galactic two-bun look thats trending these days).  Sleep, wake up, do your Thanksgiving day prep work.  Just before show time, take the buns down and finger comb hair for beautiful bodacious curls.  Pin back one side for a classically sweet look.  Your guests will think you rule this holiday, for sure.
